We have often noticed that the toilets of our school if at all
existing, are in a pitiable condition. Since this is the beginning of the
learning chain for the next generation so to speak, the local leaders, and
social workers would be able to intervene effectively if they had some basic

The main problem in schools is lack of proper operation and
maintenance, as this is considered the least priority, and necessary staff
required for them are either not recruited fro lack of funds, or the staff once
appointed difficult to supervise. THe rural development ministry set this
responsibility as follows;
