What Is A Common Good Bank™? Common good banks will be a new kind of community savings bank, controlled democratically by depositors, lending exclusively to socially responsible companies. http://www.commongoodbank.com/ Useful aids for Citizens: Polices Compliants www.saferindia.com an NGO started by Ms Kiran Bedi .where you can log your complaint regarding any crime if the police at your place is not accepting your complaint. Then this NGO will mail your complaint to the DGP of your area. You can also use this mail as the legal document in case of filing a case in the court of judgment. this site is directly administered by Ms Kiran Bedi so all your mails directly goes to her. Also start putting details of the Consumer Guidance.. The Campaign has set up a web site with some information about the Forest Rights Act and the struggle around it. At the moment it contains basic information about the Act, the main goal at the moment being to counter the propaganda against the Act. It will be added to in the coming days. The website is at: http://forestrightsact.awardspace.com You can also reach it at forestrights.awardspace.com People's Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR): A organisation for right of marginalised is working for marginalised community.Formed in 1996. -www.pvchr.blogspot.com -www.dalitwomen.blogspot.com -www.lenin-shruti.blogspot.com -www.musahar.blogspot.com -www.rtfup.blogspot.com -www.ahrchk.net ...Complain...!!! DID YOU KNOW? The Government of India has an online grievance forum at www.darpg-grievance.nic.in The government wants people to use this tool to highlight the problems they faced while dealing with government officials or departments like passport office, electricity board, post office, LIC, BSNL/MTNL, railways et al. Use this grievance forum and tell others who may not know about this facility. This way we can at least raise our concerns instead of just talking about the "system." source: thro' email from Ram Ray, July 23, 2007 In the continuing spirit of Women (and Men who Care about Women)'s Day, an announcement. The Gender Sensitisation and People-friendly Police Project - a joint partnership of the Karnataka State Police and UNICEF - has now got a web log of its own: www.peoplefriendlypolice.wordpress.com/ The site is still
very much under construction, but please do drop by, give us your
suggestions, and pass the message on. We hope that it will be a
comprehensive resource on violence against women and children, as well
as a platform for sharing opinions on the experiences that women, young
people and children - in particular - have, when dealing with the
police. The police need to be continually challenged as well as
supported in their efforts to become more 'people friendly': we
encourage you to share your positive as well as not-so-positive
stories, as the experiences of pro-active, sensitive policing (they do
exist) rarely
make it to the front pages of our newspapers.
source: thro' email from Anasuya Sengupta www.sanmathi.org An Interesting Website for "Online Lodging of Grievances" is where one can visit to file/lodge complaints online against the functioning of a government department. No expenses! No hassles! At least that's the promise. darpg-grievance.nic.in Development Research Communication and Services Centre (DRCSC) www.drcsc.org [resource centre for collection, collation and dissemination of information on various socio-economic issues and to highlight the struggles of various NGOs, CBOs and individuals to ensure social justice; especially for informal sector workers, indigenous communities and small & marginal farmers/landless labourers as well as self employed artisans. The centre also studied and promoted various media & methods of social communication.] |
