SPRAT - Society for Promotion of Rational Thinking - works in Gujarat, India, in two directions: sensitizing people toward communal harmony, rational thinking and scientific temper, and for empowering the impoverished.
To raise funds we wish to make a presentation to potential donors but are not adept at fund raising. In the wake of post-Godhra disturbances we plunged into work with our own funding. In due course, some good Samaritans chipped in but as the work expanded we need greater support.
Can you please connect us to potential donor institutions and individuals urgently? Also, during the Ramadan Muslims give away Zakawt [charity]. If you can kindly supply IDs of Muslim brethren we will write to them explaining our work. And, personally, if you care to know about our work please ask.

Isn’t it high time that we said no to synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilisers. Don’t we have a right to eat food free from poison? Should we legitimate the distribution of the seeds of poison by consuming it? Do we and our future generations have a right to remain healthy?

appeal for your support to the Jansahyog Relief (people-to-people
relief) efforts that provide food-grains, sheets for temporary shelter
and other
humanitarian relief to those displaced by the Sardar Sarovar dam on the
Narmada, and still
without rehabilitation, struggling for rights and survival.
This year we celebrated the Festival of the Dalit Woman on 03 June in almost the entire District. Each Taluk organized the Festival in different ways. There were public meetings with a lot of celebration, there were meetings in big halls etc. The restoration of the primacy of women in general and of Dalit women in particular will spell the beginning of the liberation of human society.

17th October is World Livelihood Day. And nearly two months before we (People's Action For Rural Awakening, Ravulapalem, East Godavari Dt.)) had decided that today in all the districts we work we will appropriate land for the poor especially the dalit bahujans.
