Actions that Women and Law Enforcement can Take

As psychiatrists have misled people about the truth of the harm caused by psychiatric drugs, electric shock and rape, it is imperative that women become aware of the safeguards needed to prevent this abuse. CCHR has achieved legislative reforms in several countries around the world that are aimed at also providing legal safeguards to patients.

CCHR strongly calls for the following safeguards to be implemented.

     PSYCHIATRIC RAPE

1.That a new specific crime be named in statutes -- where Psychotherapist Sexual Exploitation laws do not   exist -- and that the crime be defined as "a sex act between a psychiatrist and a psychiatric patient."

2.That the crime be classed as "felony rape."

3.That this crime carry the same penalties as any other rape.

4.That this crime of rape be investigated and prosecuted by the police and district attorneys as with any other  rape.

5.That "consent" by a patient is not a defense.

6.That the laws pertaining to statute of limitations and any other such technical provision be brought into line  with other crimes of rape.

7.That all medical licensing boards which receive complaints of psychiatrists sexually abusing a patient must, by law, report the complaint to the district attorney or police for criminal investigation and prosecution.

8.That once a case of sexual abuse has been proved against a psychiatrist, that psychiatrist never again be  allowed to practice.

ELECTRIC SHOCK TREATMENT

1.Electro convulsive treatment is made unlawful with criminal penalties where anyone administers electric   shock; the charge is assault, assault and battery or assault causing grievous bodily harm, with the criminal  penalties the same as laid out in criminal codes for these crimes.

2.An individual who administers electro convulsive therapy, as well as the psychiatric facility where the treatment was administered, shall be liable for compensation to the person violated.

WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT PSYCHIATRIC ABUSE

1.Report any cases of psychiatric abuse, crime or malpractice to your local chapter of the Citizens
Commission on Human Rights.

2.Encourage abused women to report psychiatric crimes committed against them to law enforcement  agencies for prosecution. CCHR is always willing to assist victims in filing their complaints.

3.Write your local congressman, senator or member of parliament, and demand the following:

a.That psychiatric rape be declared a felony crime and be punished just like any other form of rape.
b.That the use of electro convulsive therapy (ECT) be banned.
c.That mandated insurance coverage for psychiatric services be rescinded as insurance companies
are being defrauded, including being billed for rape committed by psychiatrists.
d.That government funding to mental health research foundations such as the U.S. National Institute
of  Mental Health be stopped for bogus research on women such as determining whether PMS is
    a  mental illness.

4.Encourage anyone with apparent "symptoms of mental illness" to see a competent non-psychiatric medical  doctor for full medical examination and treatment.
