under Integrated Block and Cluster Development Programme (IBCD) of the DistrictQuality Education Project (DQEP),

Objective: Pparticipatory learning model at Block level  to improve academic and class room support to local government school teachers and resource groups at block, cluster and school levels.

Background and philosophy of Nannoora Jnana Bhandara:

NJB) – a concept, process and resource :

Education Resource Centres currently being set up at Block level were named as Nannoora Jnana Bhandra (NJB). Literal meaning of the term NJB is ‘Knowledge Treasury of My Village’. Questions like ‘who are these knowledge treasury ‘ and ‘ what is this knowledge treasury in my village’ are beingexplained in following statements as vision and goal of NJB. Though the literal meaning of the word ‘Nannoora’ is ‘my village’, here it indicates ‘local’, ‘school’ level, ‘collective’ ownership’. Thus, invites and encourages involvement and participation of teacher, trainer, and official communities to make it a local and education specific resource centre. Thus, NJB desirous to be :

? a resource centres that will have resources of local significance with school level applications. This indicates the quality of need based resource centre

? a resource centre with environment to have resources that are locally (district, block or school levels) developed for local use. Thus, provides scope for creativity, innovation and ensuresresource centre a local specific, dynamic and interactive body.

? a resource centres that is managed by internal team (as part of system) with minimal external support and guidance. Thus, focuses on local and collective ownership in its maintenance and utilization.

Thus, aim at contributing to learning environment where teachers and resource team in its true sense becomes knowledge treasury and all children in such schools learn well.

In its efforts to realize the above vision, Vidyankura for the current project period made a humble beginning through following process:
