Conservation plan fails to halt erosion at Raj Bhavan beach

S J Kunte, secretary to the governor and a former additional commissioner of the BMC, said, "The beach started eroding eight years ago. The MMB undertook a beach regeneration plan and funds were provided by the Mumbai city district collectorate. The sand was transported from Gujarat, but the patch treated by the MMB did not show results."
