SRTT – SWS, JU Fieldwork Fellowship Programme.

Applications in plain paper are invited from interested participants mentioning the year they wish to avail the fellowship. Please enclose CV, proof of institutional attachment, a statement of research mentioning the expectation from this fellowship and a note on teaching experiences regarding gender training of your students.

Objectives

To allow more effective interaction between the University’s Women’s Studies activities and research activities in undergraduate colleges.
To help researchers with some additional support for their intensive fieldwork.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be Indian citizens
Teachers in colleges or universities of West Bengal who are pursuing doctoral or post-doctoral research.

Desirable:
Teachers attached to women’s studies centre/ cells at their own college/ university.

Output Required:
There could be the following activities built around this fellowship:

Some teaching input into the M.Phil programme from the fellows.
Presentation of the report of the field work and discussions of methodology and
An occasional paper reflecting on the methodological questions raised in these studies.

Financial arrangement

Scholarship will be paid monthly at the rate of Rs. 9000/month for three months to each of the three fellows 2010.

SRTT – SWS, JU Library Fellowship Programme.

Applications in plain paper are invited from interested participants mentioning the year they wish to work in. Candidates must apply with CV and a research proposal mentioning the expectation from this fellowship.

Objectives:

To allow scholars in other parts of the country to use both the library of the SWS, JU and the attached archives.

Essential Qualification:
Applicants must be engaged in research on any gender related theme in any faculty or interdisciplinary school of any university/ institute in any country.

Eligibility:

Candidates must be Indian Citizens.
Applications will also be taken from teachers and lecturers of various colleges and universities.
Ph D students doing theirs research in any gender related issue.
Researchers from various institutes working on any gender related theme may also apply.

Financial arrangement

Scholarship will be paid at the rate of Rs. 9000/month for three months to each of three scholars for 2010 along with support for accommodation and train fare.

SRTT – SWS, JU National Visiting Fellowship Programme*

Applications are invited in plain paper from those interested in availing a fellowship mentioning the year they wish to work in.
Candidates must apply with their CV and statement of research interests. Nominations may also be made accompanied by the same information.

Objectives:

To enable the School to gain from the contribution of the fellows to the ongoing programmes of the School of Women’s Studies, Jadavpur University.
To allow the fellow to use the resources of the School to advance own research.
To allow the M Phil students to gain knowledge from the classes to be taken by the fellow.

Eligibility:

Applicants have to be senior scholars in the field of Women’s Studies.

Essentials:
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree and/ or a distinguished record of research or work experience on gender related issues.

Financial arrangement:

Scholarship will be awarded at the rate of Rs10000/month, along with support for accommodation and travel, for two months to each of the three fellows.
