The
government of India, in collaboration with United Nations, is organizing a National
Consultation for Community Radio broadcasters on 6 & 7 March 2007 in New Delhi. The
details are given below.

Consultation for Practicing and Potential Community Radio Operators in India organised
by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,
Government
of India in collaboration with United Nations.
Venue: Indian Institute of Mass
Communication, JNU New Campus,
Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067, India
Dates: 6 - 7 March, 2007
Time: Registration begins at 0900Hrs
Objective:
To
raise awareness about the processes involved in community radio licensing,
management and operations
To
showcase different models/experiences of CR in South Asia and contextualise it to
the Indian context
Highlight
the various aspects of programming, operation and management of community radio.
This
will be the precursor to a series of regional workshops designed to spread awareness of
community radio and to encourage community groups to set up CR stations.

National and International NGO's/ Bilateral agencies who will support the CR movement in India
