DCM 10
--------------------------

DCM 10 ( The tenth Meet of Documentation Centres ) is being held at Vistaar Campus from 10th to 14th Dec. We will be exchanging notes on the different systems being used by documentation centres and working out methods of interfacing information between these centres. We also hope to be able to intergrate information generated by smaller non-documentation organsiations, such that their information is also made avaliable to the wider DC network.

Click here for the details of agenda, schedule, costs, venue etc.

VIDEO EDITING EQUIPMENT AT CED
-------------------------------------------------------------------

CED in Bangalore is now equiped with a professional video editing unit. We wish to offer these facilities to NGOs and Activists, for making small 'barefoot' films on important development and social justice themes.

Either you can use the facility on a low-hire-fee basis, or if the theme is interesting to us at CED, we could work out a joint project! Interested ?

SCREENINGS AT CED-BANGALORE FOR DECEMBER 2004
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN (1976)
an oscar winning movie starring Dustin Hoffman, Robert Redford, Jason Robards, directed by Alan J. Pakula.

The most devastating detective story of the century!

A superb adaptation of Washington Post's scathing historical expose by intrepid reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein on the infamous Watergate break-in and the ultimate downfall of the Nixon Presidency with cover ups, cloak-and-dagger informant `Deep Throat', conspiracies and Washington as a fixed metaphor as a quagmire sucking down America's freedoms with only the dynamic duo as our only hope!

FATHER, SON AND HOLY WAR (1994) by Anand Patwardhan
The film explores the possibility that the key to the psychology of violence against 'the other' lies in male insecurity, an inevitable product of the very construction of the notion of 'manhood'

DEVELOPMENT DIGEST 07 is out !!!

This time we have a set of excerpts on a debate on Rural Moneylenders.

Pallavi Chavan considers extending the understanding, acceptance and respect to moneylenders to be a regression while Shishir Sharma and S Chamala detect a positive side to moneylenders, and the need for a greater acceptance of informalisation of credit in rural areas.
