This July and August 2005 we at CED hope to establish contacts with departments of Humanities in various colleges of Bangalore. This would cover an introduction to CED, the services and publications and would also be a sensitization to social and development issues.

JUMBO SALE @ CED
--------------------------------------------------
Over the years CED has helped a
number
of NGOs and small publishers in selling their publications. CED has
stocked and distributed books and grey literature on social change
and development - material which could not be found in any
conventional bookstore.
We are holding a 'JUMBO SALE' at
CED between August 16 to 30, 2005.
The are around 1000 titles and
cover categories such as Politics, Health, Social Change, Women’s
Studies and so on.

are
calling
for
applications for the fourth batch of Outreach
Scholarships. This is a special programme for Social Workers
and
Activists
who wish to spend three months working on a social issue of their
interest.

'SheWrite" will be screened at CED on August 16, 2005. Directed by K.P.Jayashankar and Anjali Monteiro from TISS, Mumbai, is a film that weaves together the narratives and works of four Tamil women poets. Anjali and Jayashankar will be here to share with you their experiences. Check out more on the film.

CED, in association with Architecture and Development (A & D), is setting up RDCs, focusing on the rehabilitation and the long-term development needs of communities in South India affected by the tsunami. Do send us any relevant information on creation of sustainable livelihood and habitat. Do write to Priya for more details.
