The Campaign for Survival and Dignity invites all progressive forces to join us for a  NATIONAL CONVENTION ON THE FOREST RIGHTS ACT

A national gathering of struggle-based groups from across the country on the recently passed Forest Rights Act.

The Convention will explore the Act as passed, discuss its uses in
the struggle and its flaws, and outline a strategy for going ahead.

It is expected that groups from all forest areas of India will attend, including from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and the Northeast.

The Convention will be addressed by delegates from all forest areas and leaders of forest movements.  Political leaders from major parties are also being invited to speak.

The Convention will be held on 29th January, 2006
