A film explaining the Coastal Regulation Zone, and the Economics and Politics of its Implementation from the point of view of the Local Communities.
This film is aimed to educate local communities. It is a part of the series of AV materials on issues related to Tsunami. The film is accompanied by a booklet in Tamil that provides more references to other information on CRZ. The main aim is to promote the right to information, and people’s right to know, determine and participate in their own development particularly their re-development/rehabilitation.

CED ON TOUR
From
6 – 9 December, CED will participate in Govindpur
IV
to be held at Anantpur. This is the first
meeting in
fifteen years and should prove to be very interesting. This time it is
being
done using ‘Open Space Technology’(OST) – OST is a
discussion technique that not only stimulates people to present an
issue/topic
that they feel passionate about, but also to take responsibility for
it. This
means that people will convene the discussion about their topic, and
will
stimulate others to join in. Although there are time-slots for
different
discussion topics, these timeslots are not fixed and can be adjusted
according
to need (that is, a discussion can take either less, or more, time than
foreseen). People are free to join in a discussion when they want and
to leave
a group when they feel that they have nothing more to add. This is the
so-called ‘rule of two feet’. It should be very interesting and we hope
to see
some of you there... look out for the CED stall.
